Jessica Hernandez, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Jessica is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and has been practicing in the Austin community since 2012 after graduating from The University of Texas at Austin. She has practiced in a variety of settings including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, detox and inpatient substance use treatment centers, and outpatient private practice. Jessica served as adjunct professor at Concordia University 2012-2013. She regularly serves as a preceptor to PMHNP students.
Jessica provides psychiatric diagnostic services and medication management with brief psychotherapeutic interventions. Her approach to care is holistic, collaborative, empowering, practical, and evidence-based in order to improve the lives of those whom she provides care. Jessica enjoys helping individuals with a variety of mental health issues with a special focus on psychotic disorders, bipolar disorders, complex trauma and PTSD, and substance use disorders. Jessica sees individuals 15 years of age and older.
Jude Chedville, APRN, ACNS-BC
Jude is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with previous experience in family medicine. A native of Louisiana, Jude obtained her first degree—a Bachelor of Science in Engineering—from Louisiana State University. In 2006, Judith left her engineering career in the oil field service industry to pursue more fulfilling work in health care. In 2012, Jude obtained her master’s in nursing from the University of Texas, Austin. Spending over a decade in family medicine with a special interest in diabetes, mental health, and sexual health.
Jude has a love for sports, stargazing and spending time with her wife, daughter and a full house of pets, to include Bobbie Jean, the ball python. With over 18 years' service in the National Guard, Jude has a special appreciation for the challenges facing Veterans and people from all walks of life.
Jude joins Greater Austin Psychiatry and Wellness with a special interest in a holistic approach to a patient’s well being that traditional medicine can at times fail to deliver. After her own journey with HRT and the discovery of its many benefits; Jude is happy to be offering menopause hormone therapy through a new wellness arm of Greater Austin Psychiatry as well as offering HRT for men and trans patients. Her wellness programs will include peptide and IV therapies. Jude is also offering in office and at-home ketamine-assisted therapy.
Jude is a Board Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist.
Jessica Hyde, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Jessica is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner specializing in the treatment and management of depression/mood and anxiety disorders, bipolar, OCD, and thought disorders. She enjoys partnering to find individualized solutions unique to each client. She worked for the state of TX in psychiatry for a number of years before entering into private practice. What she loves best is helping provide relief to individuals who have been suffering. In her down time Jessica enjoys the outdoors, family time, her dogs and music. Jessica sees individuals 18 years of age and older.
Nicole Murman, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Nicole is a skilled and compassionate board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who provides high-quality mental health care to her clients. Nicole joined the private practice sector after previously providing psychiatric treatment to underserved individuals in Travis County. Her approach to treatment is focused on honoring individuals’ unique perspectives and needs in a nonjudgmental, collaborative, and safe setting.
Nicole is passionate about meeting people where they’re at, and believes that each individual’s journey toward mental wellness is unique. With expertise in diagnosing and treating a range of conditions, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, PTSD, and ADHD, she combines medication management with brief supportive psychotherapy to help clients improve their mental health.
Nicole’s practice is enhanced by her educational background at UT Austin and UC Berkeley, where she received her Master’s in Nursing and Bachelor’s in Psychology. Nicole’s investigative and curious approach to understanding her clients is supported by her past roles in psychological research, including her time assisting with a study at Harvard University intended to identify factors that predict suicide and self-harm.
Nicole treats adults (age 18+) and offers telemedicine and in-person appointments.
Nicole McLain APRN, PMHNP-BC
Nicole joined Greater Austin Psychiatry and Wellness this past year, bringing over 17 years of experience in psychiatric care. Throughout her career, she has worked in various healthcare settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and community healthcare. Nicole is dedicated to helping patients achieve their mental health goals and enhance their overall well-being. She believes in taking a holistic approach to mental health care, providing a well-rounded perspective that considers the individual's unique circumstances and needs.
An LGBTQIA+ ally, Nicole strives to create a supportive and safe space for all individuals seeking care. She is passionate about fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels heard, understood, and respected. With a clinical focus on depression, anxiety, bipolar, and psychotic disorders, Nicole offers expert and compassionate care tailored to each individual's specific needs. She understands the complexities of these conditions and works collaboratively with her patients to develop personalized treatment plans. Nicole specializes in the treatment of adults aged 18+ and offers both telemedicine and in-person appointments, providing flexibility and accessibility to her patients.
Alma Nevarez, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Alma is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner specializing in the treatment and management of mood and anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, OCD, and ADHD with special interest in working with individuals who have experienced trauma and PTSD. She sees individuals 14 years of age and older. In her spare time, Alma enjoys working out, spending time with her dog (Rogue), time with her family and friends, and being an avid Texas Tech Red Raider.
Sana Powell, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Sana is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Greater Austin Psychiatry and Wellness, where she provides compassionate care through comprehensive medication management and brief psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults. Her practice is rooted in a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and evidence-based approach. As a Christian, Indian-American woman, mother, and LGBTQIA+ affirming provider, Sana brings a deeply inclusive perspective to her work, ensuring that the unique needs of each patient are understood and respected.
Sana holds a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin and is particularly interested in the treatment of depression, anxiety, ADHD, and trauma-related disorders. Her background as a Licensed Professional Counselor, with over five years of experience serving diverse populations, further enhances her holistic approach to mental health care. She also earned a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling & Behavioral Medicine from Boston University School of Medicine.
Committed to promoting the overall wellness of both mind and body, Sana strives to build strong, therapeutic relationships that honor each individual’s identity and worldview. Outside of her clinical work, she is an author and wellness educator who is passionate about destigmatizing and raising awareness around mental health. In her free time, she enjoys exploring Austin’s walking trails with her family, reading, and indulging in episodes of The Great British Bake Off.
Sana currently sees individuals aged six and older, both in person and virtually.
Dalwinn Kim, APRN PMHNP-BC
Dale is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over six years of experience in mental health nursing. He specializes in the treatment and management of adult psychiatric disorders, to include depression and anxiety disorders, sleep disturbance disorders, trauma and PTSD, bipolar disorders, schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, ADHD, OCD, and substance use disorders.
Dale is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care to adults aged 18 and older, offering both in-person and telehealth appointments to ensure accessible, flexible care for his patients.
Dale earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UT Health San Antonio and his Master of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech Health Science Center. As a board-certified PMHNP, Dale utilizes a holistic, evidence-based approach to mental health care. His practice emphasizes collaboration with patients and other healthcare providers to develop personalized treatment plans and promote autonomy. Dale integrates medication management, psychotherapy, and other complementary approaches to support each patients unique journey toward mental wellness.
In addition to his clinical work, Dale proudly serves in the Army Reserves, with 18 years of dedicated service. This experience informs his disciplined yet compassionate approach to patient care and provides him with a unique understanding of the mental health challenges faced by service members and veterans.
Outside of work, Dale enjoys board games, learning how to play pickleball, or spending time with his two very large and lovable cats, Pancake and Waffles.
Shy Johnson, APRN PMHNP-BC
Shy Johnson is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience and expertise in mental health care. Using a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and evidenced-based approach, she is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care.
She earned her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas at Austin and has a special interest in the treatment of depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, LGBT population, and trauma-related disorders. Utilizing evidence-based practices, she develops individualized treatment plans that encompass medication management, brief psychotherapy, and holistic approaches to promote wellness.
Known for her empathetic approach and strong therapeutic skills, Shy builds meaningful connections with patients, fostering a safe and supportive environment for healing. She is passionate about mental health advocacy and dedicated to reducing stigma through education and community outreach.
